NETWORKING (AM Class - 2 Units)
This course is an introduction in data communications and networking. Topics include telecommunication standards, protocols, equipment, network topologies, communication software, LAN’s, WAN’s, the Internet, and network operating systems. Students will learn how to install, configure, and troubleshoot a computer network. Students are taught a wide range of material about networking, from assessments of careers in networking to discussions of local area networks, wide area networks, protocols, topologies, transmission media, and security. Major concepts include in-depth examinations of the most significant aspects of networking, such as the TCP/IP protocol suite.

COMPUTER PROGRAMMING 1and 2 (PM Class - 2 Units)
This course of study is designed to emphasize the fundamentals of computer programming. Topics include computer software, program design and development, and practical experience in programming, using modern, object-oriented languages. Languages taught will be Visual Basic 6.0, Java, C++, HTML. PC REPAIR (AM Class - 2 Units) This course covers the basic hardware of a personal computer, including operations and interactions with software. Topics include component identification, the memory system, peripheral installation and configuration, preventive maintenance, and diagnostics and repair. Upon completion, students should be able to select appropriate computer equipment, upgrade and maintain existing equipment, and troubleshoot and repair nonfunctioning personal computers. After successful completion of this course, students may take the exam for A+ Certification at their own expense. May be required to purchase a lab manual.
