CTE - Creating Future-Ready Students
The Dillon County Technology Center (DCTC) is a career and technology center that offers students work-based training backed by industry certifications. We are an extension of the Dillon District 3, Dillon District 4, Dillon Christian School, and Home School Consortiums. The Center does not discriminate based on race, creed, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, or persons with disabilities. Students who desire to enroll in any course of study must register in a supported school system before attending classes. Students may attend classes in grades 9th – 12th. Many of the programs do have age restrictions implemented on the state level. The Center strictly adheres to these restrictions.
Once students have selected a program, they will have the opportunity to join student organizations related to their field of study. These organizations are an excellent way to foster relationships with other schools, share with and learn from others, compete at the state and national levels, travel, and meet new people. For more information regarding the programs, we offer including course descriptions, credit hours, and prerequisites click on the DCTC Course above.
Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students with the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to pursue their career path of choice. CTE programs open doors to a variety of career options and strengthen students’ ability to compete in the global economy. CTE courses offer hands-on learning opportunities that allow students to develop technical skills and practice problem-solving and critical thinking. These courses also provide students with an understanding of the job market and the requirements for their chosen field. Additionally, CTE courses often offer internships and other experiences that give students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and make connections with potential employers. With the focus on developing employability skills such as problem-solving, communication, and collaboration, CTE is the perfect way to help students prepare for their future, giving them the skills and resources, they need to be successful in any career they choose.
