DIRECTOR'S MESSAGE

     On behalf of the Board Members, the Advisory Board and the entire staff, I welcome you to the Dillon County Applied Technology Center.

    This facility is a cooperative venture of the three school districts in Dillon County to provide each student an opportunity to gain training, experience, and skills in various fields of study.

    While you are a part of the Dillon A-Tec Center, you will prepare yourself for a job in the world of work or for placement in some advanced training program.  The skills that you master will be the result of your sincere efforts and quality performances.

    Everyone in the A-Tec Center will assist you in any way possible to fulfill your educational objectives.  However, the major responsibility lies with you to take advantage of all the opportunities made available.

Goals and Objectives for Technology Outcomes

Students will use technology as a tool for learning.
Technology will be integrated into all courses.
Students will master technological skills.
Students will use telecommunications to have access and to interact with world-wide information.
Technology through e-mail will be used as a communication tool within the school, the community, and the world.
Students will develop ethical values with regard to the use of technology.
Technology will be used to motivate students to learn.
Students will use technology to create imaginative and innovative solutions to problems in their academic and occupational classes.
Students will appreciate the value of technology.

 
   

Action Plan:  Two-to-Three Year Projection

The following activities can be achieved over a period of two to three years in order to fulfill the Center’s long-term goals and objectives.
Continue to advance faculty computer literacy for classroom instructional purposes.
Seek grant funds through the State or private sources to purchase computers for instructional purposes. 
Plan budgets for restricted and non-restricted funds to include the purchase of computer equipment

The Mission of Dillon County Technology Center is to provide students with an academic, social, and safe nurturing environment, to develop opportunities for working cooperatively in a technical global society, and to challenge all students as they prepare to be productive citizens, in cooperation with the community it serves.
