FCCLA, Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, The Ultimate Leadership Experience

The Home Economics Related Occupations Club is a branch of the Future Homemakers of America (FHA) and is open to all students who are enrolled in or have completed any occupational home economics classes. The purpose of this organization is to help youth assume their roles in society through home economics education in areas of personal growth, family life, vocational preparation and community involvement. Civic, community, and educational projects are sponsored in which all students are encouraged to participate in order to develop leadership skills including planning and organizing. Students who are interested in joining may ask their Home Economics and Food Service instructors.

VOCATIONAL INDUSTRIAL CLUBS OF AMERICA
(Students enrolled in Industrial
Education)
(VICA)

The Vocational Industrial Clubs of America is a student organization open to all trade and industrial education students. The purpose of this organization is to help T & I students develop leadership skills that will benefit them in achieving career goals. Competition in leadership skill activities is provided in extemporaneous speaking, prepared speech, job interview technique, club business procedures and opening and closing ceremonies. Skill competition is also offered at the local, district, state, national and international levels. Civic, community and educational projects are sponsored in which all club members are encouraged to participate. Students wishing to learn more about this organization should confer with their T&I instructor.

NATIONAL VOCATIONAL-TECHNICAL HONOR SOCIETY
(For all vocationally trained students)
NV-THS

Dillon County Technology Center serves as a chapter for the National Vocational- Technical Honor Society. Student membership in the Society is the highest scholastic honor awarded for excellence in workforce education in America. The Society has been the acknowledged leader in the recognition of outstanding student achievement in workforce education since 1984. Over 1500 schools and colleges throughout the U.S. and its territories are affiliated with NV-THS. NV-THS members represent an invaluable resource to America's business and industry and are today's most highly sought after individuals.

FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA
(Students enrolled in Business Education)
(FBLA)

FBLA is a student organization open to all students enrolled in Business Education. The goals of the organization are to develop leadership abilities, create interest and understanding of the American free enterprise system, develop character, prepare for useful citizenship foster patriotism, encourage efficient money management, scholarship, school loyalty, and public service. Members Participate in various civic, community and educational projects, which halo carry out the goals and purposes of the organization. Members may also participate in competitive events in all areas and skills taught in business education courses. Competition is held on district, state, and national levels. Students may join FBLA any time during the school year by contacting one of the Business Education teachers or one of the FBLA officers.

FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA
(For students enrolled in Agricultural Education)

FFA is the national organization of by and for youth that are studying vocational agriculture in public secondary schools which operate under the provisions of the National Education Acts. It is an educational non-profit, non-political organization of students designed to develop agricultural leadership, character, thrift, scholarship, cooperation, citizenship, and patriotism.

Youth must be enrolled in vocational agriculture to be eligible for membership. They may retain their membership for three years following their graduation from high school, or until they become 21 years of age.

The FFA is sponsored by the Agricultural Education Staff in The Office of Education, United States Department of Health, Education, and Welfare in cooperation with the various state boards for vocational education and local high school departments of vocational agriculture. National headquarters is maintained near Mount Vermont at Alexandria, Virginia.
